5 Can’t Live Without Festival Apps

May 31, 2016 - By: Sarah Hovis

Major music festivals like Coachella and Hangout Fest are already in the books for 2016, but there’s still Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza to look forward to (among many others). If you are lucky to be going this summer, check out these five festival apps suggested by GigWise.com designed to optimize your experience:

      1. BC Tent Finder
Camping at your festival? Use this app to locate your tent and even your car. The built-in compass also allows you to navigate using GPS when there is no network coverage. There’s even a flashlight feature to illuminate your way.

Available FREE for both iOS and Android (Festival Buddy).
      2. Dark Sky
“Into each life some rain must fall,”
but that doesn’t mean you have to be caught totally unprepared. Using GPS, this app creates forecasts for your precise location, giving you minute-by-minute predictions for the next hour and hour-by-hour forecasts for the next day and week.

Available for both iOS ($3.99) and Android (Free)
      3. Find My Friends
There’s always one person who gets separated from the pack. So rather than meet at some random landmark (that no one will remember), use this app to see where your friends are. Simply invite your friends to share their location by tapping their contact info or typing in their email address.

Available FREE for both iOS and Android.
      4. First Aid by American Red Cross
Be prepared for any emergency with this app. It offers simple step-by-step instructions for everyday first aid scenarios and is also fully integrated with 911, so you can call EMS from the app at any time. Plus, preloaded content lets you instantly access safety information, even without reception or an Internet connection.

Available FREE for both iOS and Android.
      5. WaterIn
Speaking of staying healthy… this app will act as a helpful reminder to drink enough water. After all, you don’t want to pass out in the middle of a set or miss the headliner because you’re being treated for sunstroke in the first aid tent.

Available FREE for both iOS and Android.

Finally, don’t forget to download the official app for your festival. It’s usually filled with lots of useful information and happenings that will help make your festival experience memorable.
