Meet the Team - Chris Stead

August 17, 2015 - By: Sarah Pease
We’re pretty cool people, and we thought you might like to get to know us a bit better. Every few weeks we’ll share another bio as part of our “Meet the Team” series.
So, what would you say you do here?

I am a UI/Javascript engineer and team lead, and hard-core geek. I help make things and make things better. I work with other members of my team to ensure they produce the best work they can. I also provide (hopefully) useful information about current development practices and upcoming changes in the development landscape.

What is your favorite part about working at Events.com?

Without a doubt, my favorite part of Events.com is the people. People make or break a company and define whether a company is awesome, or just another burnout shop, and Events.com has a magic mix.

In the spirit of #events, what is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?

I spend my weekends doing a whole mix of things. I'm a huge music fan and I like going to see a local show. I also write a lot of code and prepare for some of  the various development-related groups I meet with throughout the week. I also spend a good amount of time hanging out with my wife and our two dogs.

If you could witness any event past, present, or future, what would it be?

It would have to be one of two things. Either I would like to have been there as Brendan Eich did a mad sprint over a week to create Javascript, or I would have liked to have seen Alan Turing create the computer which cracked Enigma.

Chris also has a blog and publishes posts every Monday and Wednesday on his website - check him out at
