Trapped in a Room with a Zombie

Zombies are the new darlings of the undead (sorry,
Twilight). When “The Walking Dead” recently killed off a character (
or did they?) it
sent shockwaves through social media. This fascination with flesh-eating corpses has even carried over to
themed obstacle course races. Running away from a zombie is one thing, but what about being locked in a room, using nothing but your wits to escape one? That’s the premise of
Room Escape Adventures (REA)
Trapped in a Room with a Zombie, which was hilariously highlighted on an episode of the CBS show
“The Big Bang Theory.” Here’s how it works:

  • Up to 12 players are locked in a room for one hour with a zombie chained to a wall.
  • Find and solve a series of riddles (all in the room) that will lead to the key that unlocks the door.
  • For extra motivation, every five minutes the chain automatically lengthens, allowing the zombie to inch closer.
  • Get touched by this infectious creature, and you are out for physically searching for clues, but you can still offer your brains to help solve them.

In addition to being fun and creative, this immersive and interactive concept provides a great team building experience, and with
locations across the U.S., it’s easy to get ‘caught’ up in the excitement. Would you ever try this as a team building activity? Tell us in the comments!
