Integrating Video into Email, Part 3

January 26, 2016 - By: Sarah Hovis

Welcome back to our final post on effectively integrating video into your emails. Two weeks ago we shared
three points to consider when deciding whether to use videos in your email marketing campaign, and last week we looked at
best practices that would hopefully lead to a great user experience. Today, we wrap up with how to embed a video in your email. To embed a video, follow these
three steps suggested by Yesmail:

  1. Upload your video
  2. Chose a thumbnail
  3. Create a GIF animation or static image (in case your recipient can’t play the video)

Don’t be scared off by the word ‘create.’ Thanks to technology, when you upload the video, it automatically generates frames that let you to choose which will be your static image, determine how long your GIF will be, which frame the GIF will start and end with, and whether it will loop or not. Lastly, enter the two embed codes generated by your video tool into your email and your landing page, respectively. Video is an engaging marketing format because it’s concise, attention-grabbing, and requires very little work on the viewing end. Also, almost
70 percent of marketing, sales, and business professionals have used video marketing. Now might be the perfect time for you to do the same. Tell us in the comments the best use of video marketing you’ve seen.
